What Customers Say About Cardo S-800 Bluetooth In-Ear/Over-The-Ear Headset:

in fact i use this one all the time now. i bought this bluetooth as a backup and since it was so cheap i figured it wouldn't be great. well to my surprise it works better than my expensive blueant and the reception and sound are excellent. it's comfortable too. wold highly recommend.

The sound you hear is so crackled that you can barely make out what is being said.I have asked people who call me on how is my voice sounding to them and most of then have said it is fine. I have been using Cardo S-800 for 3 weeks now and am ready to throw it out of the window. It might have cool features (which I have hardly used) but the bottom line is the sound quality is horrible. So I guess the microphone works better then the ear speaker.Design wise it is nor very comfortable to fit it over your ear. You constantly need to keep pushing it in your ear otherwise it falls off.I went for the bargain price and what a mistake it was.

Some were just not loud enough to hear the other party, others would not properly voice dial. This, along with the high output levels available through the earpiece,(another area where other manufacturers seem not to get it), make it ideal for use when driving. I have owned and wasted a lot of money on 8 or more previous Bluetooth headsets, most very expensive and all verified as genuine articles, not counterfeits. In my opinion, many Bluetooth headset manufacturers design for wind and higher frequency noise rejection, allowing lower frequency components to overload the earpiece electronics. Well thought out. Forget about the standard wind noise rejection rating, most of the time these products will be used in your car, not in an outdoor environment, alhough I suspect that the S-800 will also work well in the wind, as it functions well even with the AC running (I haven't tried it outside). Apparently Cardo has done it's homework here because in this regard the S-800 outperforms ALL of the other earpieces I have tried yet still sounds great to the other party.

One last thing; There is a 'Buzzer' function which helps you to find the S-800 if misplaced. All exhibited problems with the ambient noise in my car. I find the earpiece comfortable to wear on long trips, however this is a matter of ear anatomy and your milage may vary. Road/tire noise is composed of a lot of low frequency components. The net effect is that speech recognition such as used for voice dialing is rendered useless. Nice. All in all this is without a doubt the best I've owned so far.

When I did a search for "best" bluetooth devices and this one came up, I thought I would give it a try. The sound quality was not much better than any of the other devices I have used and placing it in my ear is always awkward and it NEVER stays in my ear, even with the earpiece attachment, which reminds me of a mini replica of a wire clothes hanger that was manipulated to look like an earpiece. Very awkward and not what I expected from this product.

Overall, I am happy with the the S-800. It would be nice to have different size ear-peice covers for a perfect fit but it still is pretty snug inside my ear. The coat hanger style over-ear fitting was a little strange to get used to at first, but I now appreciate it's lite-weight feel. I can hear through it well and have little background noise complaints. It would also be nice to have a couple warning beeps when it is dialing to signal the handset is dialing. My Plantronics 510 had that feature and got used to it.
